IFE USA Branch members attended the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) International Training Conference held at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, 9-14 April 2017.
IFE USA Committee Members William (Bill) Peterson and Bruce H Varner operated a trade stand where the 692 attendees, comprising of fire investigators from around the world, together with those working with the fire industry from the insurance and legal professions, received an intensive week of training. John Galvin BSc (Hons) IEng FIFireE DipDesInn DipPollCon MCSFS IAAI-CFI IAAI-ECT also attended the event and represented the UK Association of Fire Investigators (IAAI) UK Chapter.
Bill and Bruce were able to promote membership of the IFE, registration with the Engineering Council and the recent agreement that will allow IAAI members who are Certified Fire Investigators (IAAI-CFI) to join the IFE at Member (MIFireE) grade.
On Monday 20 March 2017 the branch will hold its AGM and Educational session at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Orange County in Anaheim, CA.

The IFE was saddened to hear of the news that Dr Cortez Lawrence JD PhD FIFireE sadly passed away on 3 January 2017.
Canadian high-rise buildings, and the safety of their occupants, highly depend on the status of the building’s fire stop.
