IFE Ethics Committee

A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world.” – Albert Camus (1913 – 1960)

The Ethics Committee has been established by the Board of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) to monitor the ethical and behavioural standards exhibited by the Institution and its members, and to take such action as may be necessary when it appears that the highest standards have not been met.

The Ethics Committee is seeking members and we want to make sure that we effectively represent the diverse nature of the IFE’s membership.

The Ethics Committee meets 3 or 4 times each year and members will be expected to attend these meetings.  Arrangements will be made for international members to attend by video conference.

Appointment to the Ethics Committee will initially be for a 3-year period, with potential for re-appointment after that time.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the IFE Ethics Committee, please confirm your interest by sending an email to Dr Graham Cory (company.secretary@ife.org.uk).  Please also attach a personal statement, not exceeding 350 words, detailing why you want to become a member of this Committee and what you think you can offer the IFE by serving on it.
